The Opportunity
Join our dynamic development team as an Android Developer Intern and gain hands-on experience working in a global development environment. You'll collaborate directly with our experienced Android development team based in India along with our US-based engineering team, while contributing to real-world mobile applications used by operators across the country. This unique internship offers exposure to international software development practices, cross-cultural team collaboration, and modern Android development technologies.
What You'll Do:
Development & Technical Work:
- Assist in developing and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin and Java
- Work on feature development, bug fixes, and code optimization
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development best practices
- Help with app testing, debugging, and performance monitoring
- Contribute to documentation and technical specifications
Global Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate regularly with our global development team
- Participate in standups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings
- Interface with customers to optimize processes
Learning & Growth:
- Gain exposure to Agile development methodologies
- Learn about real-world software development workflows
- Attend technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing meetings
What We are Looking For
Required Experience:
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Completed work in mobile app development or object-oriented programming
- Basic knowledge of Android development (Android Studio, Kotlin/Java)
- Understanding of version control systems (Git)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in team environments
- Comfortable with video conferencing and remote collaboration tools
- Flexible schedule to accommodate some overlap with offshore time zone (early morning or evening calls)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or project experience with Android development
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and mobile app architecture patterns
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, Trello, or similar)
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles
- Portfolio of personal projects or coursework to demonstrate skills

- Cultural sensitivity and openness to working with international teams
- Detail-oriented with good time management abilities
- Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $22-$28 per hour
- Schedule: Flexible
- Work Environment: Work from home paired with in-person collaboration in Chattanooga or Atlanta with the Flourish leadership team
- Travel: Potential for occasional customer visits
