What is Thermal Transfer?
Thermal Transfer uses a heated printhead to melt a ribbon onto the label, creating crisp, durable prints that resist fading, water, and chemicals — perfect for long-term use and harsh conditions.

Field Tips for Operators

  • ZD411 & ZD421: Use ½" core ribbons (244 ft).

    • Make sure ribbon is at least as wide as your label.

    • Always check if your printer uses CSO (Coated Side Out).

  • ZT411: Uses industrial 1" core, 450m ribbon.

    • Check if ribbon should be CSI (Coated Side In).

    • Match ribbon width to label width to prevent damage.

  • Calibration: Always run printer calibration when changing material types.

  • Storage: Keep labels and ribbons in cool, dry environments to prevent adhesive breakdown and curling.

  • Print Testing: Always test new media combinations with a short print run before scaling up.
