However, Arizona currently does not contract with a third-party track-and-trace system.

All licensed cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, and retail dispensaries in Arizona are required to use the track and trace system to report their cannabis-related activities.

The system uses unique identifiers (UIDs) for plants and packages to track cannabis products from cultivation through to the point of sale. Each entity in the supply chain must report various activities, including planting, harvesting, processing, transferring, and selling cannabis products.

The system aims to prevent the diversion of cannabis into the illegal market, ensure product safety and quality, facilitate recall efforts if necessary, and assist in enforcing regulations regarding the legal cannabis market.

Non-compliance can result in penalties, including fines, suspension, or revocation of the business's license to operate in the cannabis industry in Arizona.
